At the dawn of day.

As i lay down in the darkened landscape.
The once green grass has turned to gray.
Long since the night took away the sun that i have so long adored.
I have closed my eyes and never saw.
There is more to a sight than the sun.
In the dark my eyes were closed. afraid.
Never to find what i once had.

Though i found a way to smile upon every day.
As if it were that day that i've missed for so long.
You made me forget why i closed my eyes.
And made me open them to find, a view like never before.
The night can have the sun, for i know you'll be with me when it's gone

In the green fields of the next dawn, we watch the days turn in to night.
And as the light of day is fading away, i see no darkness when i look in your eyes.
Now there is but the only fear, the dream that you're in will disappear.

When i close my eyes and i fall asleep.
I never feel the cold or the darkness that embraces the night
When i wake up with you in my arms, i realize.
that the sun has never even set.
